Let us tell you the story of Lauren and Yann, two adventurous souls who decided to celebrate their marriage with one of our mystery honeymoons.
Lauren and Yann, adventurers at heart
From a Scottish couple that lives in Thailand while teaching English, what would you expect? Of course they couldn’t be pleased with just an average trip after their wedding day. A wedding that – by the way – took place in Scotland but was planned remotely from Asia by Lauren and Yann.
That’s a whole lot of work, and that’s what led them to a Blind Honeymoon: they didn’t have time to plan their first vacation as newlyweds too, so they decided to delegate us.
Also, they loved the idea of keeping the whole journey a big surprise to add a spark of excitement to it. They are avid travelers, who had explored a huge part of the world already. For us it was a pleasant challenge to find a destination that suited their requests to go somewhere new, where they could experience luxury, nature, comfort, good food, beaches… basically: a little bit of everything!
Honeymoon in Indonesia or Singapore? Both, please!
Luckily, here at Blind Experiences we love challenges and we found the perfect solution for them: a surprise honeymoon in Indonesia and Singapore! Not one destination but two completely different ones, conveniently located on the way back from Scotland to Thailand after the wedding day.
First stop: Singapore, with its buzzing and modern atmosphere. They dived straight into it at Ginett Wine Bar, a cozy and chic restaurant where they had the chance to indulge in a delicious and high-quality dinner. After that, they enjoyed a well-earned night of rest at the bohemian Hotel G before flying to the next destination.
The following day it was time for the romantic honeymoon in Indonesia to begin! Lauren and Yann reached Cempedak Island, a private and eco-friendly paradise in the South China Sea. There, a bamboo villa with private pool was waiting for them, for a perfect combination of luxury and nature feels.
The rain forest of Cempedak Island hosts a diverse population of local wildlife, and the sustainable resort is built in a way that doesn’t harm it – in fact, one of its aims is to protect it and restore it when necessary. On the other side, the surrounding waters hide some incredible treasures too and Lauren and Yann could explore them thanks to the activities offered on the spot – such as snorkeling and diving. They also enjoyed the heavenly Rock Spa, where they could get pampered while listening to the sound of the ocean waves.
We loved the fact that this gorgeous couple sent us photos of them throughout their honeymoon in Indonesia and Singapore: sharing the joy and excitement of our travelers is one of the things we love the most about our job!
