When true foodies Arianna and Alek asked us to plan their blind honeymoon in August 2015, we knew one thing for certain: it had to be delicious!
After getting to know Arianna and Alek a little better, we discovered that Arianna is also a passionate yoga teacher and Alek was keen to immerse himself in local culture – wherever he may be. We pulled up our sleeves, did some further digging and then started on our research. Where better for holistic yogi and a culture-hungry husband who love trying new foods? Japan!
We whisked Arianna and Alek from New York to Tokyo and then surprised them with a fun-filled itinerary around beautiful Japan. They explored incredible cities including Osaka and Kyoto, where Arianna got to experience a yoga master class in a monastery. They also visited Mt Koyasan, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the most sacred mountains in Japan.
Of course we didn’t forget about Arianna and Alek’s love of trying new food. Their blind trip included the best culinary experiences Japan has on offer. Together, Arianna and Alek enjoyed a fun and unique cooking tour, a sake tasting, and even got to dine at a hidden Michelin three-star restaurant – lucky we’re in on the secret!
